A professional marketer, with over 20 years' experience of both FMCG and business to business sectors.  As Marketing Director, Head of Marketing Worldwide, with a leading speciality chemicals company, was responsible for major product launches, strategic planning and both product line and company acquisitions to enhance a market leadership position.  Having worked throughout Europe, the USA and Far East, this international perspective combines with strong strategic skills and a creative flair to develop innovative marketing solutions.

Recent consultancy projects have ranged from in-depth market sector analysis and reports, to global branding proposals and many varied strategic planning exercises to improve market position, support marketing partners, and develop competitive advantage.  Market sector experience includes packaging, speciality chemicals, oil, telecommunications, IT, brewing and travel.  Within the telecommunications sector, a two-year focus on internet solutions has included projects for operators, ISPs, suppliers and enterprise accounts.

Developing, conducting, and analysing many Market Research campaigns, has helped to inform strategy development, and increase customer satisfaction.  Creating programmes that enhance customer relationships, increase loyalty, and deliver mutual benefit have been developed from extensive Key Account experience.  Particular emphasis has been focused on new technologies, what they can offer, how they are integrated and deployed, how to use them and ensuring they are relevant and inclusive. A technical awareness and appreciation, coupled with strong strategic and commercial skills have been used to deliver increased competitive advantage, commercial innitiatives, creative solutions and a broader understanding of the posibilities available in the current, and changing, business environment.

Some examples of work and experience in the Speciality Chemicals sector include:

Rexam Industrial Packaging – conducted international research into packaging recycling needs of major chemical companies, and developed programme for closed loop drum management.  Also, identified customised packaging requirements.

Ciba Geigy Polymers – Responsible for Worldwide technical support group and new product development to support Automotive, Aerospace, Electronics and Distribution clients.  Developed partnership contracts to support Key Accounts.

Loctite/Henkel – Worked on Pan-European programmes with major OEM’s to launch and support production line application equipment, with maintenance contracts and SLA’s.  Also, managed national distributor relationships.

Mobil Industrial Lubricants – worked with UK marketing team to develop and support industrial distribution, train distributors, provide technical support, and generate local sales leads.

Akzo Nobel Trade Paints and Finishes – Worked with UK marketing team to develop customer support programme for trade users, distributors, and specifiers, including sampling programme, technical data, specification, and H&S.
